              Candlelighters seeking driver volunteers – weekdays Monday through Friday!   Candlelighters of the El Paso Area, a non-profit support group for families of children with cancer, is seeking volunteers who are willing to drive patients from their homes to cancer treatment centers in the El Paso Area. Volunteers must be at least 25-years-old and be willing to take a driving test and have a good driving record.  An eight passenger van and insurance is provided.   • Candlelighters Programs & Services

    There are three main categories of support: Emergency Financial Assistance Food Closet and Food Bank (participating member of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger). After a child has successfully gone off treatment the family is eligible to receive this service for up to one year. Meal Vouchers are provided for families in need to use at the hospital cafeteria and local restaurants while their child is hospitalized or in need of extended clinic visits. Medical funds are provided for families requiring assistance to purchase wigs, personal care products and prescription drugs. Living assistance is provided to families who are unable to cope with basic living expenses. Money for typical monthly expenses such as rent, utilities, auto repair, etc., is available for families that are completely strapped and have nowhere else ...
