Counseling "Cancer is a disease that affects the entire family and psychological issues result from the upheaval of traditional family roles that typically only begin to surface nine months after cancer treatment has ended." For this reason, we offer 8 hours a week of individual or group counseling.

Activities Center this center serves as an adjunct to the children's hospital clinic to provide a safe, educational, and interactive environment for patients and their families while the children wait for test results or to see their physician. To help our families feel at home, the center offers a waiting area, library, and internet services as well as a play area with activities such as arts and crafts, videos, and computer games. The center is staffed with a specialist trained in early childhood development to help the children and their loved ones cope with their treatment through techniques that include therapeutic play, creative art therapies, and self expression activities. The center is also structured to provide counseling to help reduce the stress and strain on the family and their marriage. On-site supervision also allows parents the opportunity to run errands or go outside the hospital environment to have some respite time for themselves.
